[origin: EP1516682A1] The method for the cleaning and emptying of tank (1) filled with solid type residual matter entails the feeding of a fluid and especially water into the tank to soften the residual matter, the feeding of especially high pressure air into the tank to swirl the residual matter, and the drawing off of the softened and swirled matter, whereby at least temporarily during the drawing off and/or drawing off pauses more fluid is fed into the tank. An independent claim is included for a system for the cleaning and emptying of the tank of a biological treatment facility of solid residual matter.
