Abstract (en)
The fuse element has a fuse conductor (5) attached at opposite ends to a pair of contact posts (1) via a laser welding process, the laser welding beam directed onto an incidence point of the contact post facing the welding point, the contact post having a reduced material thickness in the vicinity of the incidence point and the welding point. The reduced material thickness region (3) extends through only part of the contact post, with an adjacent support region (4) of greater material thickness remaining. An independent claim for a method for manufacture of an electrical fuse element is also included.

Sicherungselement mit einem an zwei Kontaktpfosten (1) befestigten Schmelzleiter (5). Der Schmelzleiter (5) ist an den Kontaktpfosten (1) an einer Schweißstelle mittels Laser-Schweißen befestigt. Bei dem Schweißvorgang wird der Laserstrahl auf den Kontaktpfosten (1) auf eine der Schweißstelle des Schmelzleiters (5) gegenüberliegende Auftreffstelle gerichtet. Die Kontaktpfosten (1) weisen jeweils einen die Schweißstelle und die Auftreffstelle einschließenden Abflachbereich (3) verringerter Materialdicke auf. Bei wenigstens einem Kontaktpfosten (1) nimmt der Abflachbereich (3) verringerter Materialdicke nur einen Teil der Breite des Kontaktpfostens (1) ein, so daß neben dem Abflachbereich (3) wenigstens ein Stützbereich (4) größerer Materialdicke verbleibt. <IMAGE>
