[origin: FR2840896A1] N-((Iso)quinolyl-alkyl)-N'-(phenyl or pyridyl)-diaza-heterocyclic compounds (I) are new. Diaza-heterocyclic compounds of formula (I) and their salts and solvates are new. X = N or CH; R1 = H, halo or CF3; R2, R3 = H or Me; n = 0 or 1; W = piperazine-1,4-diyl, 3,8-diaza-bicyclo-(3.2.1)-octane-3,8-diyl (bonded in either orientation) or homopiperazine-1,4-diyl (all optionally in mono- or di-N-oxide form); A = 6- or 7-(iso)quinolyl group of formula (a) or (b) (both optionally in N-oxide form); R4 = H, halo, 1-4C alkyl, CF3, NH2 or mono- or di-(1-4C alkyl)-amino; R5 = H, halo, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C alkyl or CF3; and R6 = H, 1-4C alkoxy or 1-4C alkyl. Independent claims are also included for: (1) Preparation of (I); and (2) New trifluoromethyl-benzene or -pyridine derivative intermediates of formula (II').
