Abstract (en)

[origin: CA2489720A1] The invention relates to composite materials having an optical effect, containing at least one moulded body which is essentially made of core- covering particles. The covering thereof forms a matrix and the core thereof is essentially solid and has an essentially monodisperse size distribution. There is a difference between the refractive indices of the core material an d the covering material and at least one further material which determines the mechanical properties of the composite. The invention also relates to a meth od for producing composite materials. The inventive materials have a colouring effect, according to the observation angle, and freely adjustable mechanical properties.
