[origin: WO2004003314A1] The invention relates to a panel (1, 2) of a floor system, particularly a laminate floor, comprising a first lateral edge (3) and a second lateral edge (4) which is arranged opposite the first lateral edge (3). Said lateral edges (3, 4) can be interlocked with corresponding lateral edges (4, 3) of additional panels (1, 2) and can be made to engage with each other essentially by performing a vertical movement. The aim of the invention is to interlock panels in a simpler and safer manner. Said aim is achieved by providing the first lateral edge (3) with a fitting spring (6) which extends from the upper surface (5) towards the bottom, a locking lip (7) that extends from the upper surface (5) towards the bottom, a locking groove (8) that is located between the fitting spring (6) and the locking lip (7), and an elasticity groove (9) that is disposed on the side of the locking lip (7), which lies opposite the locking groove (8), while providing the second lateral edge (4) with a locking spring (11) which extends from the lower surface (10) towards the top and a fitting groove (12) that is adjacent to the locking spring (11). The fitting spring (6) engages with the fitting groove (12) in the interlocked state, the distal end (13) of the fitting spring (6) resting against the bottom of the fitting groove (12), while the locking spring (11) engages with the locking groove (8) and the locking lip (7).
