[origin: WO2004006392A1] The invention concerns a electrical connector with end contacts for high-intensity currents consisting of an active base (1) and a plug (2) provided with at least one contact pin (11) which is connected to an electric cable (16) and designed to co-operate with an elastic contact (6) of the base (1), said elastic contact (6) being housed in an insulation (3) of said base, while said insulation is provided with a passage opening (10) for inserting the contact pin (11). Said connector is characterized in that at least the penetrating part of the contact pin (11) of the plug has a substantially constant cross-section whereof the dimensions are at most slightly smaller than the dimensions of the cross-section of the passage opening (10) of the insulation (3) of the base (1) while the electric cable (16) whereto the pin (11) is connected, has a surface with cross-section much larger than that of the penetrating part of said pin.
