[origin: EP1519328A1] The presence of coins moving in a coin operated machine is detected by and opto electronic sensor. This has the output of a light emitting diode [D1] transmitting to an opto receiving transistor [T1]. The diode is connected to a monitoring circuit [AW] and if the supply voltage is outside of defined limits the receiver signal is not processed.
