Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1521004A1] The road vehicle clutch actuating system incorporates a toggle spring. As the clutch pedal is depressed (Pedalweg) the force on the pedal (Pedalkraft) rises to a maximum (31) and then proceeds to fall (30) as the pedal is depressed further. The curve flattens, reaching an approximately constant value (32) at the end of the pedal travel. The characteristic curve exhibits hysteresis, with lower pedal force being experienced as the pedal is released. The spring for the clutch pedal may be a coil spring, with an additional shorter coil spring inside it.
