[origin: WO2004007944A1] The invention relates to a method for forming a fuel/air mixture of a direct-injection internal combustion engine. According to said method, a closing body of the fuel injection nozzle is displaced from a closed position into an operating position in order to adjust an operating stroke by means of a control unit, in such a way that different speeds are realised until the operating stroke is achieved, to permit optimal combustion. The inventive method also permits a uniform concentration of fuel particles that have been introduced into the combustion chamber with an increased impetus, thus creating a border turbulence with a constant symmetry and a uniform fuel distribution.
