[origin: EP1522518A1] Process for controlling an elevator installation having a cabin (EC) for transporting passengers between floors (1-18) of a building comprises comparing an instantaneous load with a full load parameter and activating a bypass function when the full load parameter is exceeded. The bypass function is activated for floors for which target calls are booked. An independent claim is also included for an elevator installation. Preferred Features: The value of a counter is decremented with each start of the cabin having a lower instantaneous load than the full load parameter.
