[origin: EP1522650A2] Extendable sun protection (4), especially an awning, for attaching to a building construction (1), especially above a building or a conservatory, comprises an awning fabric (5) for unrolling from a roll and having a front end that is fixed to a retractable profile (6), and at least two guide rails (2, 3) in which sliding parts or carriages fixed to the retractable profile are displaceably guided. At least one lever arm (7, 8) arranged on each guide rail has a first end (9, 10) hinged to the sliding part or carriage and a second front end (11, 12) hinged to the retractable profile. An independent claim is also included for an alternative extendable sun protection.
