[origin: EP1522720A2] Booster (1) for a fuel injector comprises a differential pressure chamber (4) and a compression chamber (5) for loading a high pressure inlet (7), and a piston (3) that is actuated by pressure changes in the differential pressure chamber connected via a connecting line (27) to a control line (8). The piston centers housing parts (18, 19) of the booster housing. Preferred Features: The housing parts are loaded by an axial force (24).
