[origin: DE10347212B3] The hearing aid device has a first hearing aid with a first pick-up device (1) for a first input signal, a second hearing aid with a second pick-up device (2) for a second input signal, a level measurement device (3-5) for measuring a level difference of the two input signals and a controller for switching at least one of the hearing aids into telephone mode if the level difference falls below or rises above at least one predefined threshold value (7,10). An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a method of automatic switching into a telephone mode.
