[origin: WO2004002853A1] Disclosed is a pressure control valve which reduces the increased internal pressure in an aerosol spray can that is filled with compressed gas to a working pressure level for a spray valve (12). Said valve comprises a control piston (52) which is maintained in a state of equilibrium by means of a restoring force and a sealing location (66, 68) which is closed when the pressure in a pressure control chamber (84) exceeds the control pressure level. In order to prevent the control accuracy from being falsified as a result of the decreasing pressure inside the can during continuous removal, the inventive pressure control valve is provided with a sealing device (86, 66, 67) which seals a free end of the piston (52, 74) against the pressure inside the can and the control pressure such that the variable pressure inside the can is no longer able to act upon any axial surface of the piston (52) and the control accuracy is improved in spite of a potentially smaller piston surface.
