Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004003316A1] A device comprising a carbon-fibre sheet (4) for reinforcing support structures (1) is disclosed, said carbon-fibre sheet (4) terminating in an end fitting (3, 3'), whereby the ends of the carbon-fibre sheet (4) are provided with means for coupling (7) or with a bonding layer. The carbon-fibre sheet (4) lies pressed in the end fitting (3, 3') by means of at least one wedge (6, 6'). Coupling means (7) can take the form of glue, friction material with a particle size of 0.1 1.0 mm, a film provided with friction material, a powder coating or a plasma coating. Methods for reinforcement of support structures with said device, with or without pre-stressing are disclosed. The device is characterised in having a high flexibility on arrangement of the support structure for reinforcement and the methods is characterized by a rapid and very economical assembly.
