[origin: WO2004015230A1] The invention relates to a closing device for closing a door, flap, bonnet or lid, in particular a rear lid of a motor vehicle. A closing bracket carrier (2) supports a closing bracket (4) and is mounted on a bearing plate (5) so that it can be displaced by means of a drive device (3) between a standby position, in which the closing bracket is extended (4) and a closing position, in which the closing bracket (4) is retracted. Whereas the bearing plate (5) is fixed on a front face of a closing bracket retaining section of a frame of the door, flap, bonnet or lid, the drive device (3) is fixed on a rear face of the closing bracket retaining section (20). The closing bracket retaining section (20) in turn fixes a stationary closing bracket, in such a way that either said stationary closing bracket (4) or the closing device can be fixed to the closing bracket retaining section (20).
