[origin: WO2004012015A1] The invention relates to a method and device for setting the toner concentration of a toner particle/support particle mixture (26) in a developer station (22), for developing a latent charge of an image on an intermediate support (10) of an electrophotographic printer or copier, whereby a sensor (42), arranged in the developer station (22), measures the toner concentration in the mixture (26). An actuator (40, 42) adjusts the toner supply to the developer station (22). A current usage value (68) for toner particles is determined. A regulator (74) for the regulation of the toner concentration, operates the actuator (40, 42) depending on the signal (50) from the sensor (42) and the determined usage value (68), whereby the toner concentration, at the point of the developer station where the toner is used to develop the latent image, is calculated from the toner concentration measured at the site of installation of the sensor (42) and the usage value (68).
