[origin: WO2004015731A1] The invention relates to an illuminable production part that, in particular, consists of an actuating element (5) for an electric switch (3). The production part comprises at least two adjacently arranged areas (10, 11), which can be illuminated independent of one another and which contain visible surfaces. These visible surfaces can consist of a function symbol (7, 7'), a function indicator (8) or the like. The illuminable area (10, 11) is comprised, at least on the visible surface, of a material that is at least partially transparent to visible light. The surface (6) of the illuminable area (10), optionally by means of a coating, such as a paint, that is essentially opaque to visible light, can be provided so that only the visible surface is exposed. At least the one illuminable area (11) consists of another area (12) comprised of a material that is essentially opaque to visible light and is surrounded in such a manner that both illuminable areas (10, 11) that are adjacent to one another are separated from one another by the essentially opaque material of the other area (12).
