Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1526104A1] Shaft doors (8,8') close accesses to a shaft (31), with locks operatively arranged to lock the shaft doors. Sensors detect the settings of the locks, the sensors transmitting lock setting data to a safety controller (26). The controller ascertains data having details with respect to shaft regions in which a cage (2,2') is safely movable based on the cage position and lock setting data. An independent claim is also included for a method in operating an elevator installation.
