Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1526268A2] Process for controlling the pressure in a fuel tank (200) of an internal combustion engine, especially a common rail system, comprises stationary operation of the pressure control according to a current control mode, carrying out a change-over process to change the pressure control from the current control mode to a desired future control mode in response to a control mode signal (SR), and stationary operation of the pressure control according to the desired control mode. To carry out the changeover process, the relevant control circuit (110, 120) is opened in which the control units (114, 124) are controlled with change-over input signals (u1, u2) preferably individually determined for each change-over process instead of with the previous input signal (e1, e2). The control units can be transferred in a desired manner from a current operating state defined by the current control mode into a future operating state defined by the future control mode. Independent claims are also included for: (1) Device for controlling the pressure in a fuel tank of an internal combustion engine, especially a common rail system; and (2) Computer program with program code for the device used for controlling pressure in a fuel tank.
