[origin: EP1526422A1] The operating control (1) has a manual knob (2) which can be moved between different angular switch or setting positions and which is moved axially between an outer setting position and an inner stowed position using a spring-loaded linear guide, with a spring element (7) between an inner sleeve fitted to the rotary shaft (4) of the manual knob and an outer sleeve (5) on the inside of the manual knob. The outer sleeve has an integral arm (16) extending in the axial direction, with an inwards projecting nose at its free end (21) cooperating with a heart-shaped latch element provided by the inner sleeve.
