[origin: WO2004002286A2] The aim of the invention is to provide a spray device and method, which permit the limited spatial resources in the washing container of a dishwasher to be optimally used and likewise to create a spray behaviour and a spray pattern, which permit items to be washed that are arranged in a tableware basket to be comprehensively wet. This is achieved by the inventive spray device, which consists of at least one tubular conduit comprising two ends and spray orifices for spraying a liquid. According to the invention, the two ends of the tubular conduit are connected by elements, which are configured in such a way that the liquid selectively flows at a predetermined pressure through the first and/or second end into the tubular conduit and escapes through the spray orifices.
