[origin: FR2843369A1] The drip collector, designed to be fitted to the neck of a bottle of oil (21) beneath an upper reinforcing ring or collar (22), consists of a rigid annular shell (3) of an oil-absorbing wood such as olive wood, holding an inner strip (4) of an absorbent and/or porous material. The shell is tubular in shape with inward facing upper and lower rims (31, 32) forming a recess for the absorbent strip, which is of felt with a preferable density of 150 - 200 g/sq m/mm, made from wool or cotton fibres, and pre-treated to increase its oil absorbing capacity.
