Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004013023A1] The invention relates to a method for transferring a feed strip of a material web, in particular a paper or cardboard web, onto a winding device (18) for winding the material web onto a batch roll (20). According to the method, the material web or the feed strip is guided by a support drum (22) and a winding nip (24) is formed between the support drum (22) and the batch roll (20). During the transfer of the feed strip, the linear force (LK) in the winding nip (24) is set to a higher value in the vicinity of the feed strip than in the remaining area of the winding nip (24). The invention also relates to a corresponding winding device (18).
