Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004013025A1] Disclosed is a spiral-type compartment stacker comprising a two-part device (2) for removing sheet material from a stacking wheel (1), the two parts (2a, 2b) of the removing device being movable. A first part (2a) of the removing device is moved out of the stacking wheel together with the last banknote (100) that is to be stacked such that only the last banknote is removed while the following banknote (101) remains in the stacking wheel. The second part (2b) of the removing device rotates along with the stacking wheel during said stage and is stopped in the removing position only once the spiral-type compartment stacker is prepared to stack another stack of banknotes. The banknotes that are fed to the stacking wheel during that time are removed from the stacking wheel by the second part (2b) of the removing device while the first part (2a) of the removing device is moved back into the removing position, whereby the first part of the removing device is prevented from colliding with the banknotes that are located within the stacking wheel.
