Nebulised cooling liquid is supplied to the drying device (10) when no tobacco is present inside it. The cooling liquid is sprayed into the drying device upstream from the point where the tobacco (15) normally enters the device. The heating device (14) is switched off during cooling.

Die Anmeldung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Abkühlen einer Trocknungsvorrichtung für ein Tabakgut mit einer Trocknungseinrichtung, in die das Tabakgut zum Trocknen eintritt, wobei zum Abkühlen die Trocknungsvorrichtung leergefahren wird und eine Heizeinrichtung der Trocknungsvorrichtung abgeschaltet wird. Es erfolgt ein Zuführen von zerstäubter Kühlflüssigkeit in die Trocknungseinrichtung im Leerbetrieb. Die Anmeldung betrifft weiterhin eine entsprechend gesteuerte Trocknungsvorrichtung. <IMAGE>
