[origin: DE10350157B3] Punching device has a holding unit having an E-profile consisting of a first C-profile (6a) and a second C-profile (6b). The first C-profile supports a first die (4a) on its side (7a) lying next to the second C-profile and the second C-profile supports a second die (4b) on its side lying next to the first C-profile. A first stamp (5a) is arranged on the free outer side (8a) of the first C-profile and a second stamp (5b) is arranged on the free outer side (8b) of the second C-profile. The first C-profile and the second C-profile move against each other in the punching direction. Preferred Features: The C-profiles move independently of each other. The first die and the second die do not change length or only the second die changes in length.
