Abstract (en)
The brake (1) has a housing (2) that is formed with a U-shaped cross-section, and two brake halves (3), each with active and passive brake linings (4, 5). A compression spring (6) activates the active brake lining and produces braking force against a brake surface when an actuator is deactivated. The passive brake lining is activated when one of the brake halves fails. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a brake for a lift.

Bei dieser selbstzentrierenden Bremse (1) bleibt das Bremsmoment bei Normalbetrieb und bei Ausfall einer Bremshälfte (3) gleich. Die Bremse (1) besteht aus einem im Querschnitt U-förmigen Gehäuse (2), wobei ein Schenkel des Us einer Bremshälfte (3) entspricht. Die Bremshälften (3) sind identisch aufgebaut. Je Bremshälfte (3) ist ein aktiver Bremsbelag (4) und ein passiver Bremsbelag (5) vorgesehen. Der aktive Bremsbelag (4) wird von einer Federkraft einer Druckfeder (6) beaufschlagt. Bei Ausfall einer Bremshälfte (3) übernimmt der passive Bremsbelag (5) die Funktion des aktiven Bremsbelages (4). <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
