[origin: EP1528151A2] The railway rail (2) foot support assembly has a support plate (3) with a grooved top surface (5). The grooves are of sawtooth shape and engage corresponding grooves (4) in the bottom surface of a guide plate (15). The guide plate may be moved along by the width of a groove to adjust the rail gauge setting. The guide plate is rotatable through 180 degrees to adjust the gauge setting (S1,S2) by one half of a tooth width. The sides (19,20) and top surface (18) of the guide plate are symmetrical. One side can press against the rail foot (13) to hold it to gauge. Grooves (29) on the top surface accommodate a rail clip.
