[origin: EP1528219A2] An industrial roller shutter door rests on a horizontal spindle supported over the door frame by bearings at each end. The shutter slats deploy from the roll through a fixed downwards-directed slit, thereby progressively reducing the radial distance between the outermost slats and the spindle. Each end of the spindle rests in a bearing mount that progressively advances towards the slit as the radial distance reduces. The bearing advancement is synchronised at each end in a symmetrical plane.
