[origin: EP1528330A1] The modular unit for a compact heating system has rear connections for a plate heat exchanger includes a pump housing (24) connected on both sides to a valve housing (25,26). An insertion chamber (36,48) accessible from the front is provided in each valve housing to accommodate at least one valve. The insertion chambers each form a connection base for a pipe connector (19,20) for the heating system, a passage leading to the heat exchanger, and at least one additional passage or connector (37,38,58).
