[origin: WO2004022254A1] The invention relates to a method and a vehicle for cleaning the inside of a tank, particularly a crude oil tank (10), according to which a cleaning vehicle (28) that is introduced into the interior (24) of the tank is moved on the tank bottom (12) by means of a motor. At least one inventive traction element (34, 36, 44) that is connected to the cleaning vehicle (28) is fastened (38, 40, 46) to a stationary part of the crude oil tank (10). The cleaning vehicle (28) effects or at least supports the movement thereof on the tank bottom (12) by pulling on the at least one traction element (34, 36, 44) with the aid of motor power.
