[origin: WO2004006605A1] The invention relates to a method and a radio communication system for transmitting a connection in a radio communication system which can transmit information via at least two radio access networks (RAT1, RAT2). A first of the at least two radio access networks (RAT1) comprises at least one first base station (BS12) and a first radio network control device (RNC1), and a second of the at least two radio access networks (RAT2) comprises at least one second base station (BS21) and a second radio network control device (RNC2). At least one subscriber station (MT) can send and/or receive in each of the at least two radio access networks (RAT1, RAT2). According to the invention, the first radio network control device (RNC1) which is connected to the at least one subscriber station (MT) uses information to decide whether a connection should be established between the at least one subscriber station (MT) and the second base station (BS21).
