The invention relates to a device for filling a container (1) for storage and/or transport with product, in particular crops, for instance potatoes (2), comprising supply means and a filling location where an empty container (1) can be positioned for filling purposes, wherein the supply means carry the products to the container, and wherein a buffer bin (4) with a closable outflow opening (10) is arranged between the supply means and the filling location for receiving a determined quantity of product before the container is filled.
