[origin: EP1529877A1] Roller diameter exceeds 400 mm. Casing thickness is 140-260 mm. The channels for thermal fluid are about 24-60 mm in diameter. Their spacing from the roller surface exceeds 55 mm. Variations of the above dimensions are also claimed. The spacing between peripheral heating or cooling channels is less than or equal to their individual diameters. The thermal transfer is 25 kW/m 2>or more in operation. The flow and return temperature difference is 6-16 K. The medium is oil or water. Flow velocity in the channels is 0.5-2.5 m/s.
