Abstract (en)
An active hearing device which is fitted towards the needs of an individual is manufactured in that an active hearing device having at least one adjustable transfer characteristic (3) is manufactured. An acoustic signal to be applied as a fitting signal for the hearing device is categorized (5) as belonging to one of several preestablished types of fitting signals. There is automatically determined (7) from the type of said acoustic signal a selection of preferred adjustments to be acted upon at the device (7) and the adjustment is performed following up such advice. <IMAGE>
