[origin: DE10236927A1] A method for producing synthetic hydrocarbons (I) by oligomerization of 8-30C 1-olefins with boron trifluoride and protic activator(s) (A1) involves reaction in presence of (a) complex-forming aprotic organic compounds (A2) with O and/or N atom(s) and/or (b) 1-6C chlorohydrocarbons with 1, 2 or 3 Cl atoms, with a mol ratio of (BF3):(A1 + A2) = (0.8:1)-(4:1). An Independent claim is also included for synthetic hydrocarbons (I) obtained by this method.
