[origin: EP1531274A2] The operating cylinder, preferably for pneumatic brake systems, has a first (8) and a second (9) pressure chamber axially bounded by fixed walls (7) and by walls (3,4:12,13) which are movable in relation to the cylinder housing (6). A screw element (30) has a connecting section (31) mechanically connected to the moving wall (12,13) of the second pressure chamber, and a threaded section (33) leads out from an end wall (15) of the cylinder housing and upon it is installed a threaded nut (35) supported against the end wall from the outside.
