[origin: FR2843483A1] The flat lamp structure (1) has at least two flat glass panels (2,3) with a space (10) between them filled with a gas, using xenon which can be mixed with neon. Two electrodes (4,5) are at the glass panels, outside the gas-filled space. The inner surface (22,32) of at least one glass panel is coated with a phosphor material (6,7), on the side towards the gas-filled space. At least one electrode is shrouded by a preferably transparent electrical insulator (14-17), which can be secured at least at one glass panel or be connected to it.
