Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004022260A1] The invention relates to a fastening element (1), particularly for blind rivets, comprising a set head (4), a deformation section (2), and a shank end (3), whereby the deformation section (2) is located between the set head (4) and the shank end (3) and the fastening element (1) is hollow on the inside, and optionally comprising a mandrel (7) inside the fastening element (1), which has a mandrel head (23) and a mandrel bottom (24) that is joined to the shank end (3) in a manner that renders it at least resistant to tensile forces. The shank end (3) is provided with a punching edge (6), which extends essentially along the outermost periphery of the shank end (3) and which is formed by a lateral surface (26) and by a face (25) of the shank end (3). The center of the face (25) is provided with a projection that projects from the plane, in which the punching edge (6) is located, on the side facing away from the set head (4). The projection can be formed by a conical surface or by a pyramidal surface.
