Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004002678A1] The invention relates to a method and device for manually aligning ophthalmic spectacle lenses (5), particularly of semifinished products of progressive lenses. The invention provides that, for shaping the free side of the spectacle lens (5), the spectacle lens (5) is held on one side by a first holding fixture (6) via a joining material that is located therebetween. The holding fixture (6) is inserted inside a recess of a retaining device (17) and the free side is shaped. After the free side of the spectacle lens (5) has been shaped, the first holding fixture (6) is inserted into a recess (2) of an adapter part (10) that is provided with markings (4). Afterwards, the spectacle lens (5) is aligned by using the markings (4) of the adapter part (10), and the spectacle lens (5) is held inside a second holding fixture (9) via another joining material located therebetween. The second holding fixture (9) is subsequently placed in the retaining device (17). The first holding fixture (6), together with the adapter part (10) and the joining material (7), is removed from the spectacle lens (5).
