[origin: WO03101688A1] A method for making a furniture element (11) by folding of a furniture plate (6) made of a metal plate (8) with at least one layer of veneer (9;10) fastened to at least one side. An intermediary plate (5) is placed on at least one side of the furniture plate (6) during the bending of an area (7) of this plate, said intermediary plate being made of a flexible material and extending at least across said area (7). By means of the method a furniture element (11) can be made by simple means of a veneered metal plate with bends that at least essentially are without flaws or damage to the veneer on the exterior of the bending.
