[origin: WO2004024451A1] The invention relates to inking units, especially short inking units in a rotary press, whereby ink is supplied to a central roller (1). At least two ink flows are provided from the central roller to a printing cylinder to be inked with a single ink transfer cylinder, in addition to at least two inking rollers (11,12,13) which can be placed on the printing cylinder. In a preferred embodiment, ink is supplied to the central roller (1) by means of a chamber doctor blade (03). The direction of rotation of the central roller is selected in such a way that the central roller passes the working doctor blade in the direction of gravity.
