Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004005066A1] The invention relates to a longitudinal adjustment mechanism for a vehicle seat, in particular a motor vehicle seat for the motorised longitudinal adjustment of the vehicle (1). Said mechanism comprises a first seat rail (5) that defines the longitudinal direction, a second seat rail (8) that can be displaced in relation to the first seat rail (5), a first gear element (11) of the first seat rail (5) and a second gear element (14) that co-operates with the first gear element (11) for the longitudinal adjustment. Said second gear element is mounted in a gear housing (18), which is allocated to the second seat rail (8) and is mounted in the longitudinal direction between two mounting plates (20) or mounting plate sections that are connected to the second seat rail (8). Each mounting plate (20) or each mounting plate section is connected to the second seat rail (8) in a fixed manner on at least two sides.
