[origin: WO2004010137A1] The invention relates to a system for detecting at least one chemical substance, of the type comprising a measuring sensor (7) which is used to capture selectively the chemical substance to be detected and a measuring unit (8) which is associated with the measuring sensor (7) and which is intended to be connected to a treatment unit (9) in order to determine whether or not the chemical substance to be detected is present. The aforementioned measuring sensor comprises at least one olfactory neuron (7) which is selected in order to capture selectively the chemical substance to be detected and said olfactory neuron (7) is disposed in a fixed manner on a support (3) so as to co-operate with the above-mentioned measuring unit (8).
