Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004006991A1] A polyamide having an equilibrium water absorption of 10% or lower is used as the main raw material. An example of the polyamide having an equilibrium water absorption of 10% or lower is a polyamide obtained from a dicarboxylic acid ingredient comprising 60 to 100 mol% terephthalic acid and a diamine ingredient comprising 60 to 100 mol% 1,9-nonanediamine and/or 2-methyl-1,8-octanediamine. Due to the use of the polyamide, a porous membrane is obtained which undergoes an extremely small dimensional change even through hot-water treatment and is useful especially as, e.g., a medical separation membrane capable of AC sterilization.
