Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1535677A1] A press tool for pipe ends has two press-jaws (2, 3) whose opposite ends (6, 7) form an aperture that, after the pressing operation, is essentially closed. The one of the jaws (3) has an extension (8) that, when the jaws are presented but not closed, rests against and supports the outer face of the pipe end. During the pressing procedure, the extension advances around the pipe outer face. The extension is a finger-shaped element.
