[origin: EP1535685A2] The apparatus has an oscillating drive mechanism (3) connected to a tool holder (1) to generate an oscillatory motion of an electrode. A feed unit has a guiding unit for positioning and supporting the holder. The guiding unit includes a set of cooled and lubricated bearing bushes situated in a casing to create liquid chambers in a casing (2). The electrode is locked in an upper dead center position by a locking device.
