Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1535822A2] The process interface for the safe operating of safety technological devices comprises function modules (3a,3b,3c) combined with one another, the functionalities of which are common to different process interfaces. At least one function module is a safe computer (2), whereby the communication between the computer and the other function modules is through a serial bus (5) which may be in the form of telegrams. The communication with the function modules includes data exchange and the control and status interrogation of the function modules.
