[origin: EP1536068A2] The compactor (1) has an upper part (2) coupling to an excavator arm (17), and a lower part (3) with imbalance generator (5) with damping devices (4) set inbetween. The upper part has a buffer unit (13) mounted outside of a rotational device (15) to eliminate vibrations. The upper part has a coupling section (11) and centre section (12) with the rubber-metal buffer inbetween.
